Since 1945 there has been service in Malaya, the Middle East, Suez, Kenya, Cyprus, Aden and Northern Ireland.

When new colours were presented to the Second Battalion in 1921, the old colours were brought to Coldstream and both the Kings and regiment colours now hang in the Parish Church for safe keeping. At the time Lt Col C.P. Heywood D.S.O. commanded.

On 24th July 1959 the 3rd Battalion was disbanded and the colours lodged in the Church of St Lawrence-Jewry in London for safe keeping.

Now under the present governments 'options for change' and increasing treasury parsimony, the Army is to lose several more Battalions of which one is the Regiment's 2nd Battalion which will disband soon. In an increasingly dangerous world, disbanding Battalions would appear to be short sighted and possibly less than conductive to law and order.
